INSST web portal
Project Description
The National Institute for Safety and Health at Work (INSST) trusted us to maintain and evolve its web portal from its beginnings in Liferay 6.2 to the current version 7.4. This long-term project demonstrates our ability to manage complex technological evolutions while maintaining system stability and functionality. Over more than a decade, we have performed more than 10 major Liferay updates, each requiring careful planning, data migration, adaptation of custom developments, and exhaustive testing. This continuous modernization process has kept the portal always updated with the latest features and security improvements. During this period, the portal has evolved significantly, moving from a JSF-based architecture to a modern architecture that integrates React for interactive components. This evolution has improved both performance and user experience. Each update included: • Exhaustive compatibility and dependency analysis • Secure data and content migration • Adaptation of custom developments to new versions • Performance and security optimization • Complete testing in staging environments before deployment • Training of the INSST technical team In addition to updates, we have performed multiple evolutionary improvements that have enhanced portal functionality, including improvements in search, navigation, accessibility, and performance. The result of this continuous work has been a robust, modern, and efficient portal that has experienced 400% growth in visits, significantly improving the dissemination of information on occupational safety and health in Spain. This project demonstrates our ability to maintain long-term relationships and successfully manage complex technological evolutions.
